Well, it is Wednesday, and you know what that means, right?
It’s time for Writing Prompt Wednesday! If you guessed it, give yourself a pat on the back because well, I’m a poor writer here and can’t afford to give out prizes at the moment…
So, if you’re find yourself feeling a little stuck this week, try out this writing prompt to get you back on track.
This one is to help with imagery:
We’ve all had pretty vivid dreams. Choose one that sticks out in your mind the most. Write 1-2 pages, describing it as best as you can. Bring this dream to life. But…do not mention that it’s a dream anywhere in your writing. Forget all the writing rules: punctuation, structure, and logical jumps. This should be kind of like a free-writing exercise where these rules shouldn’t be a concern. You should only focus on the imagery and descriptions of your dream.
As always, let me know how this works for you. Happy writing!
PS: Thanks to all who have signed up for my blog fest. If you haven’t yet, e-mail me at thestoryinme@gmail.com or comment here. Check out the post entitled: “Every Photo Has a Great Story Blog Fest”. I look forward to hearing from you! Also, I’m willing to push back the deadline to August for anyone who might not be able to make the July 23rd deadline.

I’m not one for writing prompts, but I like this one. I’m one of those people who had HD, surround sound, real-as-life dreams. And yesterday’s dream was one of those that made it into my writing idea book for a story. I ended up writing six-pages just from what I remember of the dream. LOL
That’s great! I really think dreams have a way of inspiring people.
Inpire or scare you at just how messed up your mind can be. LOL
That’s a very good point lol.
