Book: Marketing and Publicity For The Author by Stefanie Newell
Review: If there is one thing some writers ignore, it’s properly marketing themselves as a writer. In this eBook, Newell writes about her experiences of marketing herself after publishing her first book and gives helpful tips for other writers to use.
Newell discusses important topics such as starting your own marketing plan and making sure that is right for you. How to properly use social networking (Twitter, YouTube, and Facebook) is another topic that I found quite useful. These social networking sites have many users on there that you can connect to and it’s wise to use them to get your name out there.
As a writer working on getting her first book published, this book gave me a lot of insight to put into action. Every writer should read this. It doesn’t matter where you are in the writing process. You should make sure that you know how to market yourself so you can celebrate your successes and get your book out there!
Overall, Newell has the experience and knowledge to give out these tips. That shows in the content of the book. It reads more like a friend giving out some helpful advice to another fellow writer and I really appreciated that. I learned so much from this that I really needed to know. I’m at a point where I need to buckle down and start marketing myself better. Now, I have the tips to do so.
