A while ago I was asked to do a review for an e-book, so I accepted.ย  So, this week, I’m going to be reviewing two e-books! ๐Ÿ™‚ It’s a busy week on this blog..haha. The next e-book will be reviewed tomorrow, so make sure you come back and check that out.

E-book Review: A Spy At Home by Joseph M. Rinaldo

My Review: When I started to read this book, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect.ย  The book tells the life of Garrison, a former CIA agent, who really wants a normal life so he can be with his family. Garrison and his wife, Louisa, adopt a baby, Noah, who has Down’s Syndrome.

This book felt like an emotional roller coaster.ย  There were some twists and tragedies that I never saw coming.

I did have some issues with the flow of the book. There were times when it seemed a bit slow but then sped up really fast.ย  On a technical writing aspect, there were some typos and sometimes the writing seemed a bit bland. Those were the only major issues I had with the book.

Overall, it was a good read about a man who realizes he has to face and accept not only his own mortality but those he cares about.ย  It felt like a book Rinaldo put a lot of passion into writing and it’s a story he really loved.ย  There were moments where I really felt emotional after reading parts of the book.

I give it a rating of 3 out of 5.

You can find out more about Joseph Rinaldo and how to get this book at his website.

Now, it’s that time for Writing Prompt Wednesday! ๐Ÿ™‚

As I mentioned yesterday, this is my 100th post on this blog. ๐Ÿ™‚ย  I thought long and hard about what I wanted to write about today. It is a special post after all. Do I post some poetry? Do I post another short story? I have done all that already, so that isn’t very special..

I think for this post, I want to celebrate this blog by showing my appreciation to everyone who takes the time to read this. Whether you have been here since the beginning or you have just discovered this blog, I really do appreciate everyone.

I have been writing stories for so long, I can’t imagine doing anything else.ย  So, after college, I realized that this was the time for me to really pursue my dreams of becoming a published author.ย  It was time to put it all into action. I had so many stories to share and so many characters for people to meet.

I started this blog to share my experiences about being a “newbie” writer and trying to achieve that dream of mine. I wanted to inspire others to do the same, to never be afraid to go for what you want. I also wanted to connect with other writers and join them on their journeys. I’m so glad that itย  has happened for me.

Without the constant support I have received from family and friends (whether it be in real life or in the blogger world), I don’t think I could have managed to keep going. When I hit a slump, you all are willing to pick me up and encourage me to keep going. Thank you for being my “cheerleaders.” You have no idea how much that means to me.

It’s been quite a journey so far and more people are joining me. ๐Ÿ™‚ I welcome you all and hope it is as enjoyable for you as it is for me. With my book halfway finished, I really can’t wait for everyone to read it. My goal will be within reach and that is a celebration I cannot wait to have!

So, thank you again for all of the kind words and conversations we have had on this blog. I just appreciate that people come onto this blog and read these words I write.

That is why I’m dedicating this special 100th post to you. This blog isn’t really intended for myself. ๐Ÿ™‚

Now, onto 100 more blog posts! I hope to see you all at the 200th post celebration.
